I have made 18 voice threads (one for each of my students) and have allowed commenting with moderation. Is there a way to find out of someone left a comment, without having to look at each individual voice thread? Will VT send an email to my account? I haven't received anything yet, but I was hoping. How do you know when a new comment is waiting to be approved?
I've purchased an educator's account on VT and cannot find instructions to create accounts for my students and invite them to participate. Can anyone tell me of a resource/tutorial?
After you log in to VT click on the down arrow by your username in the upper right hand corner. Go to Manage Class and sign in. Click on Add Students and you will find a link: Take a look at our Manager User Tutorial. Review that first. The easiest way is to upload a Comma Separated File (CSV) - they have a sample file format.
Good luck, email me if you have any other questions.
All I get when I click on the down arow if "my account" and "Sign out." When I click on "my account," I get "Add an identity." Can I add my students in there?
Hi,
We have a school account with 350 users. I have set up groups for each class and am wondering if it is possible to do a search by class. Also can you group the voicethreads created by each class? I can't see anywhere that lets me do either of these things.
Thanks,
Leanne
No answers I'm afraid - just a lot of interest in them when they show up. I'm hoping to convince my school to purchase an account - we have 480 kids, so any advance trouble shooting tips would be invaluable :)
Suggestion for grouping voicethreads:
Have the students add a tag to their voicethread with their teacher's name and the project. Later, the teacher and students will be able to search for VT with the same tag.
Looking for classes:
When I created the accounts, I manually added the students and their teacher to a class group. (The teacher can create smaller groups later, if necessary) To view the class group VT, I click the arrow by Show All (main VT page) and navigate to the class group. I can see the projects if the students shared their VT.
I think if you go to the "share" page, there is an option to create a group in your address book. There, you can add students to individual groups if you'd like. I'm not sure if this answers your question. I've tried it, and it works.
