Hi - I just created an Ocean VT for the kids to comment on and invited them to create a VT on an Ocean topic of choice. One 5th grade girl was so excited by my VT that she created one on her own about ocean movements. She discovered that moving imag…
Hi Tracie, Welcome! i teach 5th grade science. I just started a VT for kids to comment on about people interacting with and in the oceans of the world. I use it as an opportunity for kids to review what they have read and demonstrate knowledge of pr…
I love the President's Day VT! Brad and Mandy, thanks for these ideas. I've got quite a few to try. Someone else suggested dragging photos into a powerpoint doc and then using this image. I dragged photos onto a word doc and took a screen shot of th…

It would be fun for students to use images to create a collaborative timeline on VT, and then ask quiz questions about the pictures they personally selected to place. For example, if one student selected an illustration of the Boston Tea Party they could first place it (labeled with only a year) in the proper spot on VT, and then ask questions about it from the obvious, "What event is this?" to the deeper, "What was the point of throwing tea overboard? Why not other goods?" Other students could weigh in with their answers - and the questioners could give feedback on their accuracy. When kids get to teach, they all of a sudden become pretty picky about facts and details!
hi Barbara,
its nice to see that you have some German roots :)
I have to try this voicethread once more this weekend. When I did my first try I didnt realize that I could set the timing to every single photo. I had to type in a number but it was for all photos the same timing.

hello Barbara,
thanks for your reply...I saw at your voicethread and it is working fine here. I think it is a bit hard to find out how many seconds I need till I am ready with my comment and I want the change to the next picture. Do you think it also depends from the processor of the different people that are looking at your voicethread? Also maybe the internet connection wil play a role...what do you think about?
Evi
yes...thank you...I am looking forward to seening your result then..as also I am interested in every single piece about Voicethread lol...
I know I am far away from knowing that much, but will get it with help from other people, as I learnt nearly all what I can do on computers from nice kindly people in America :))))) as also Australia, England, Austria and France
Hello Barbara,
it looks lie you are new to this "toy". I am very new and did my first voicethread try today. But then I was very stressed lol...
We are on vacation right now and I want to figure out how I can use Voicethread with my students.
Do you have any special account or do you use a free account?
best regards and of course wishing a good new year
Evi from Munich
I am trying to figure out how to add a series of images that kids can then narrate to demonstrate their understanding of a time period in history. Specifically, I am thinking about using Voicethreads to have kids order (number) images of the road to the American Revolution. I need to play around with this though because I have not done anything with this tool yet.

Barbara - I am still pretty new to VoiceThread. I have used it with 3rd graders on their blog pages - they have been doing things like times tables and explaining some processes for their math problems. In my beginning French class, the students have used pictures to create story boards and then narrated the stories in French. I really want to explore some ideas for social studies and science with elementary and junior high students on VoiceThread which involves collaborating to explore a key idea and then creating some podcasts from them. I'm definitely interested in any and all ideas here!
Hello Barbara and thank you for joining our VT Ning group. I hope you can find some good resources in here for your 4th and 5th graders. If I can help in any way, please let me know.
