endlich komme ich dazu, dir zu schreiben und für die Hilfe zu danken, damit es gelang Voicethread zum Laufen zu bekommen. Wir machten ein nettes kleines Project über Ludwig den XIV und obwohl wir schwierige Bedingungen in der Schule hatten, damit wir überhaupt per Mikrofon unseren Text aufsprechen konnten, ist uns dies schließlich doch gelungen.

I would like to ask for your help. I have some questions and hopefully you can give me some answers.
I now have such education account and also already added my students to my class.
We will be involved in a project on 11th march and I would like to set up for this a voicethread and let my students comment on it.
Now my questions:
Does everybody of the students need to sign in, for to reply? And if yes, imagine a room with 16 computers...and every child signs in to voicethread and looks at the prepared voicethread...can they comment all at the same time (everybody will have its own headset), or is it better to let them comment one before the next?
Next question...imagine...now the students have replied and told their meanings....can I then publish the voicethread, so that everybody on the internet can view it with all the comments from my students? In a blog?
If you dont know about, maybe you can forward my questions to a friend, who is used to voicethread and knows the answers?
All is very new and because of the English language I often am not sure about my understanding :)))

ich habe mir weitere Threads von den Schülerinnen angesehen (die Bildbeschreibung)...sie sprechen sehr schönes, gutes Deutsch. Kompliment!
Ich weiß nun, wie ich einen Voicethread erstelle, aber wie sieht es aus, wenn jemand kommentiert? Die Bilder blenden ja nach einigen Sekunden weiter. Kann man das stoppen, wenn man einen Kommentar hinzufügen möchte?

thanks for pointing out where I have to look. I got it working now, that my pics can change. I thought I have to count how many sec. it will take till my comment is over and then maybe one or two seconds more. but on every pic my comment has not the same length, so I was confused how to do it. But now I understand I just have to say 2 seconds and this means, when my comment is over it will still take two more seconds and then the page will change...

If possible, when you do something that didn't work out the way you wanted or it is not completely understandable send me what you have made by email and I will send you a video of my screen as I do it.

Yes it is time-consuming and labor-intensive. I suggest that you begin by using three pictures from a video and put a short sentence on each picture. Learning the process is the important thing. Students might be interested in doing it as a creative activity.
Hearing and seeing the German repeatedly allows them to remember the German.
You might have each student do a different picture and closed caption so there would be more German words in the total video for them all to learn. Once they have learned the process they become teachers and learners. If it is a short video they could see it as fun.
Please send me the written (printed) German for the video I am doing so that I can translate it into English.

Uff lots of new things to learn. I hope to be able to bring Voicethread into my class for a project in March...so I still have time to explore more about. Also I wanted it to add to our schoolblog on wordpress. But this is not working. Well at least I could embed it into our virtual classroom on Moodle.

Below is information about how I make the closed-captioning. It is in Portuguese.
O seguinte mostra como fazer um "Karaoke-Style Captioning-Subtitles vídeo".
Primeiro eu uso AVI2WAV para salvar o áudio do vídeo. Eu, então, usar editor de áudio Audacity para saber o que é dito no vídeo uma frase de cada vez. Eu separada do resto da frase do vídeo de áudio no Audacity e salvar o áudio. Trago apenas o áudio guardados em Audacity, limpá-lo um pouco lento e para baixo usando o efeito 30 Tempo e salvá-lo com um nome de ficheiro diferente. Após ter ouvido a frase basta que eu me lembro bem o suficiente para digitar a frase usando Wordpad. Wordpad está no formato Rich. É importante mantê-lo em Rich. Seguinte eu destacar o texto que será a frase que se torna o legendas-legendas. Eu faço o tipo de letra maior e utilizar o negrito eu copiar a frase usando editar / copiar. No Microsoft Paint eu carregar uma imagem do vídeo, que eu tinha capturado, e cole a frase sobre a imagem. Com algumas edições que eu faça o ajuste na frase bem com a imagem. Eu salvar a imagem que agora tem o subtítulo-legendas nele. Na pintura, então eu coloquei um rectângulo à volta da primeira palavra na frase, inverter a cor e salvar a imagem com qualquer nome e dois zeros após a file.name. Eu coloquei um rectângulo à volta da segunda palavra, salvar esta foto como eu fiz a foto no anterior, excepto em vez de 00, é guardada como 01, e assim por diante. Eu uso Audacity editor de áudio para gravar clipes de áudio individuais frase. Eu carregar as imagens salvas no Paint para o Microsoft Movie Maker. O som deve ser sincronizado com cada palavra realçada. Molduras individuais no cronograma devem ser grande o suficiente para clicar sobre elas para alterar a largura dos quadros, de acordo com quanto tempo leva para uma palavra a dizer. Pode haver pausas ou a lentidão quando uma pessoa diz uma frase de forma que estes quadros são feitos mais amplo para abrandar o movimento de cada palavra-frames por isso a pena uma pessoa diz que está em ritmo / sincronização. Palavras mais longas exigem mais amplo frames. Algumas palavras como no, no, é, ou, etc exigem a molduras para estas palavras para ser reduzida a fim de acelerar o ritmo mais rápido porque são disse.
Movie Maker é o único aplicativo que eu sei que faz isso. Aconteceu com base nesta função por acidente cerca de seis meses atrás. Tive a sorte de encontrar-se com esta função. Eu não entendo muito como fazer algo, me vez porque eu gosto de mexer em torno utilizando diferentes aplicações multimédia e não gosto de pagar por qualquer deles, se for de todo possível. Tenho comprado muitos, mas só quando eu não pude encontrar o que quero de freeware.
O processo de fazer os vídeos para um Mac pode ser feito se houver um processador de texto que tem o equivalente a escrever uma frase como no Wordpad do formato rich-text-e, em seguida, destaque e copiados. Uma pintura pedido deve também permitir destacadas frases para ser copiado e colado em uma imagem previamente carregado na aplicação da tinta. Infelizmente, nem todos os processadores de texto, nem todos os programas permitem pintar estas coisas a acontecer. Você pode baixar uma versão do Mac Audacity no Sourceforge.net.

Your a step a head of me, I see you joined the Foreign Language Group that has Michael Atkinson and Tina Wilkinson who both teach German. I also know that I. Contreiras does, but they have not been in here since October.
I was trying to think about that, if we had someone else teaching German in here. There are quite a few Foreign Language teachers, mostly Spanish & French, I believe.....
I will try to search today when I get a chance. If you want to post one that they started on I'm sure many people would comment. What I did with one school was to have the students take pictures of their school/community and then comment on in French to share with a collaborating school. If they wanted, people could still leave a comment about the picture in English (or whatever language they spoke) - I believe the teacher took it down, however. I will look.
